  1. Beautifully put! It’s a reminder that we shouldn’t fear failure but rather see it as an opportunity to grow and improve.👍👌

    Amen – Absolutely !!

  3. K.L. Hale says:

    Amen, Mitch! I love fertilizer!!

  4. Sometimes disappointment last forever, accept that effort may not materialize, sometimes tell myself it was not meant to be, some times value all I learned by effort, sometimes try again, sometimes just move on

  5. So true-pile it on! Thanks for the encouragement to persist, Mitch.

  6. Many years ago I wrote a poem entitled “BS Stinks, but It’s Good Fertilizer.” Only my thoughts weren’t as wise or profound as yours. The “fertilizer” I was referring to was flattery from certain friends. It gave my insecure self the confidence to go on and do things that would later earn me genuine praise. Now that I’m old (ancient), I’d like to believe I can recognize flattery for what it is, and I get my self worth from God. But I still enjoy getting a compliment now and then – as long as they don’t lay it on too thick! (It IS possible to smother a plant with TOO much fertilizer! 😏💩)

I agree, Annie. Flattery is, well, flat. But I do think sincere compliments can be helpful in discerning whether we’re on the right track. The trick is telling one from the other!

    Truth.

  8. I have radically accepted that I am a complete failure at anything meaningful. The last success I had was birthing my amazing Angel Boy 43 years ago. Everything after that has been a total non-success. It’s really quite depressing.

  9. So true, Mitch! 🌟

  10. JMN says:

Good analogy. Fail forward, bounce back! 🙂

  11. I have a lot of fertilizer …

  18. Very true. You fail more than you succeed but that’s how you learn.

I love the concept of fertilizer leading to success. Great way to think about what it takes to get where you want to be.
