Featured Blogger: Golnaran
My featured blogger this week is Golnaran, a wonderfully distinctive artist and sometime poet who I’ve had the pleasure of following since early on (her blog site launched two weeks before mine did in 2014). I’m not sure where she lives (possibly the Middle East), but I see classic Persian motifs in many of her dreamlike illustrations. Indeed, dreams, as well as music and a persistent sense of hope, seem to pervade her beautiful work.
Golnaran describes herself as “a full-time freelance mixed-media illustrator, content creator, wife, mother (and) mad bookworm; living and working between musical notations, words and colored pencils,” who “prays simplicity and pure/unconditional goodness.” Her work, she says, “is influenced by her personal experiences as a woman…from ‘East of the grief.'”
