An Ode to Raking Leaves in Early November

Raking leaves in early November

is always so festive

with the crinkles and colors of autumn:

the cheerful reds and oranges and golds

of Twix bar wrappers…

Reese’s Pieces wrappers…

and Snickers wrappers

and the urgent reds and desperate blues

of trampled election campaign flyers

and even here and there

some fallen leaves

Happy November,

everyone!
