Autumn colors will peak this month in most of the Northern Hemisphere. How inspiring is it? If you google “landscape paintings,” over half the images you see will have been painted in October. Ditto photographs. And if you’re south of the equator, we’ll look for your pictures in March. Wherever you are, enjoy your first weekend of Ahhctober!

My favorite season is autumn. It could be fall all year around for me.
As long as the leaves don’t fall all year round!
I didn’t think of that🤣
In my perfect world… ;>)
Lovely!
Wow!!!
You’ve got some beauts!
Oh how I miss Ohio Octobers! Down genre in LA we don’t have much of a fall until November and then it comes and goes very quickly.
Gotcha (I lived there most of my life). SoCal has its charms, but they don’t include the four traditional seasons.
Autumn’s colors truly are magnificent. But give me warm tropical beaches! Limited palette horizon-wise, but the people dress in all the shades of fall :>)
Lovely autumn landscapes! My daughter and I were up in northern Vermont on Monday to take in the views.
Is it actually in full color there already?
Not full color yet, but well on its way.
Autumn brings out sone really spectacular colourful scenes. A truly Beautiful collection.
Ahhtumn in Iowa is certainly ahh-some!
All are lovely. My favorite is the third one…birch trees, I think.
Those pictures that you posted are BEAUTIFUL!
A lovely post that celebrates the season. 🍂
Absolutely magnificent! Thank you for this incredible “beauty break,” Mitch.
At first when I read the word “Ahhctober” I gave it a guttural German pronunciation in my head.
Yeah, I debated about using it for that reason, Russ, since the German term for “Danger!” isn’t exactly what I wanted to evoke. Glad you enjoyed the “beauty break!”
I can’t believe it’s October already. It was just January. What happened?
;>) Well, I believe it’s called 2021.
Phew…and I thought it might be an age-thing. 🙂
;>)
what if 4546
Ahh…yes! Beautiful!
Sure bets at the Calendar Oscars:
“And the winner for best month is … October!”
“And the winner for month with the year’s best day is … October!”
;>)
Exquisite!
Spectacular! Aren’t you just filled with awe when viewing Nature’s intense beauty? Love the ‘Ahhctober too!”
I am indeed. Thanks!
I LOVE these pictures! I can get lost in all of them! Where I live, we do NOT see these changes – there is a very subtle shift to Autumn.
I was incredibly blessed to have been in the UK when Autumn arrived about ten years ago – I couldn’t get enough of being outside staring at trees at the time! Ha ha!
Thank you for sharing these! (We’re in Spring now 😉 )
Hey there Mitch, Have you noticed even the traffic lights are changing color. All the best. Jerry
Um…good point? ;>) Thanks, Jerry, you too.
The stunning color show almost makes up for the sun disappearing earlier.
Reading the title of this post in my inbox, I thought perhaps you’d chosen to write about fall allergies–you know, Ahh-CHOO combined with October! Imagine my surprise (and delight) to receive instead a selection of spectacular autumn artwork and photography. Makes me wish fall could last a bit longer!
;>) And Rev. Russ (comment above) immediately thought of the German word, “achtung.”
Ahh autumn’s here. Such lovely pictures! 🧡
Gorgeous Mitch..eagerly awaiting magical autumn in Connecticut.
Great place to be in the fall!
“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands”(Psalms 19:1, NASB). Great pictures!
can you quote psalms 44:01
Beautiful post, Mitch. There are so many adjectives to describe the beauty of fall, but if I had to choose just one word to describe autumn, it would be ‘splendor’.
Hi Mitch, thank you so much for this beautiful post!
My pleasure, Charles!
Reblogged this on charles french words reading and writing and commented:
Please enjoy this beautiful post on Autumn from Mitch Teemley!
