A year ago this month, our sense of safety plummeted. Until then, “Be safe” was reserved for anxious mothers sending off their children. But amidst a worldwide pandemic, it became the new “Have a good day,” the new “I care.” Still, safety isn’t enough, not for weeks or months on end. And certainly not for a year or more. But safe and cozy? Now we’re talking. An intimate corner, a comfy nook to read and sip, a hideaway place to think and talk and dream–unmolested by fear—these things had always held appeal. But in the COVID era they’ve become necessary to our sanity.

I’ll have the garden room and that nice white bedroom with the cabin bed – But I certainly don’t want the sheep chair!
Why ever not?
‘Cause it’s creepy.
I need ocean in my cozy place so I’ll have the chair in the tree. It looks peaceful enough. As long as there aren’t any monkeys in the tree; monkeys can be distracting!
Yes, I’m on Aslan’s side too.

Thank you for sharing. Be happy.
I’m happy with my prayer closet (“war room”). It’s like a miniature sanctuary, with a world map on the side wall.
I love most of these, especially the attic reading nook. But, the octopus chair? The scorpion gaming chair? The sheep heads chair? No, no, and NOOO!
Some very cosy places to chill. When I go inward I find my special place. Been needing it more than ever this past year.,
Indeed, we all have, Deborah.
Lol, some I loved — not least of all that chair-desk-table-cabinet-on-wheels-with makeup mirror (or music stand?) — New Englanders lust for beautiful, multi-purpose storage!
What a delightful collection of ‘homes’! Creative and stimulating the imagination! Thanks!
My pleasure, Anne.
Be safe!
I’m not sure that I could sit in the sheep chair! I love all the quotes.
I agree, Carol, sitting in the sheep chair would be a baaaaad experience.
I’m gravitating toward those cozy beds with lots of pillows and BOOKS! But I also love the peaceful outdoor room by the brook–as long as the humidity is low, the air is warm, a slight breeze is cool, and no bugs, lizards, or other critters to pester. Is that too much to ask?
Probably. ;>)
I was going to go for the outdoor room by the brook–but then I thought of the bugs, so I had to pass.
Oooo cozy 🙂

It was a hard choice, but I had to go with “Read, sleep, repeat.”
Oooó 😊☕🙏📚
Nice images of nice houses with equally nice quotes.
The pictures are so cozy, and kinda similar to my dream home I wish to have in a minion Himalayan township. Love it 🌼
With the Himalayas for a view? Sounds great!
I love this, Mitch; the words, the images, the quotes: wonderful 🙂

Thanks, John.
I would like to have a treehouse in the woods.
All the pictures are amazing. Wish I could relax in one of the places shown!
I love the images. And especially the Lewis quote. Live like a Narnian. God bless!
Fabulous post. I love the sheep chair!
