Some architects should be celebrated. Some should be tested for drugs. Either way, the creators of these buildings never bore us. In fact, avoiding boredom may just be what inspired them to begin with. Enjoy! (Or chuckle, whatever.)

Love the interesting quotes with this post, Mitch. “I’m a little teacup…” became very large! The sharknado? We have an upside down building in Branson and Ripley’s Believe it or Not building seems as though it will fall in our tourist town. The one off-set window seems like a legit mistake, HA! I can appreciate the uniqueness and beauty found in these dwellings! Have a blessed Friday and weekend!
You too, Karla!
Thank you!
Some of these are amazing, some I would hate to have to see on any sort of regular basis.
How did you find all these?!
Googling fingers.
Some are amazingly imaginative…others just upset my OCD!😉
I know exactly what you mean, Alan.
The Gherkin? No! What is happening to London?
Those are some amazing buildings! The wife and I stayed in the Dog Bark Inn B&B. Great place.
!
Wonderful collection,
Thank you!
Too crazy! I’m watching Westword season 3 and it has some amazing buildings.
I don’t know that I would want to live in all of these unusual spaces, but I love looking at unusual architecture. I guess I don’t like boredom either. 😛 🙂

Some of these seem to be a case of “just because you CAN, doesn’t mean your SHOULD.”
I heartily agree, Liz!
🙂
Wow! So flabagasting
I want the upside-down house.
Kid-me does too, Andrew, but Adult-me is kind of re-thinking it.
All are interesting; many are hilarious; some are beautiful.
The [‘Hug Me!’ office buildings] get a laugh w/o wasting space and w/o compromising livability or maintainability. So they have a special charm for this old engineer.
Great quotes and love architecture and lights and poetry.
These are amazing and amusing. Thanks!
Incredible feats of imagination and skill!
Oh my goodness! These are absolutely stunning! I don’t even know which one I like the most, because there’s something about each of them that just captures me! Thank you for sharing them! 🙂

There’s a house near us that has an extension built off of it designed to look as if it’s leaning. I’m not sure how much extra they paid to have that built, but it does generate a lot of attention. Still, it doesn’t hold a candle to the structures in your pics!

Last month we were in your neck of the woods and traveling through Cincinnati and Columbus. Somewhere close to Columbus off the highway was a building that looked like a basket. It was a basket factory. Snapped a few bad pictures while skirting by but still regret stopping for a moment!
The Longaberger Basket Building was headquarters to a company that made high-priced collectible baskets (go figure). They fell on hard times and folded, and someone else bought the brand. The building’s currently on the on the market, if you’d care to buy it!
Wow!! That’s tempting, Mitch!!! I think I will be kind, however, and just leave it for maybe a maker of Easter baskets, or even a Peeps distributor to buy!
;>)
You are so good at these gathering up of awesomeness!
;>) Thanks!

Huh, those are some interesting designs no doubt. For some I even thought a warp filter was applied to them.
I love! I always look for this kind of lifeful pics. 🤍

Hand soap, yes, toothpaste, yes, skincare, don’t use. Honestly, I’m good, thanks.

very nice
The last two, which are familiar, suddenly caused me to realize that they are also weird, but I’m just used to them. So it made me reflect, is it weird only because I’m not accustomed to it? Naw, some of these will always be bizarre!
;>)
These pics are amazing! What is up with the spiral staircase to nowhere?! Ha.
Some of these are a little cringing, but the others are beautiful. I have to say the building with the giraffe is my fave.

Amazing and thought-provoking. I’m going to use each of these as writing prompts.
I’d love to read them when you do.
Even the trees are leaning a bit in front of the upside-down house. I sure would like to see the inside of some of these buildings. I can’t imagine what it might be like. I remember being in Holland back in 1971 when we went into what they were calling the world’s smallest house. It certainly was tiny. There were drawers they pulled out to use as beds for the smallest of the children. There was barely enough room to turn around with the guide and a couple of people inside. I took a few pictures.
