50 Fabled Funnies

Fables are anthropomorphic stories. You may not be familiar with the word anthropomorphic (anthro = human, morph = form), but you probably engage in anthropomorphic humor on a regular basis. There, don’t you feel sophisticated? After all, who doesn’t love a quip or cartoon in which animals or objects stand in for humans? You do, you know you do! Good boy!

  3. Thanks for the lesson on anthropomorphic humor, Mitch. There are so many great cartoons here, it’s difficult to pick a favorite. The “bird bathroom” ranks right near the top though! 🙂

Wow–some genius cartoonists out there. I think you corralled the best of them, Mitch! Especially loved the upper-middle-left tentacled octopus!

Love them, especially the bird bathroom. I have said that about my car as I park under the balcony overhang at my building and the birds nest up there. You can imagine the aftermath of that! Also loved the one where the cat was advised to barf in a shoe. I actually had a cat that peed into any shoes he found lying around. That was pretty gross, especially if you forgot to look into the shoe before putting it on. I was already familiar with the term anthropomorphic, but thanks for making it so entertaining!

  13. Thanks for the laughs, Mitch. I love the corrective lenses. 😂🤣😂🤣

  14. Quite the collection of funny comics! Didn’t realize spiders gave Valentines to each other. 😂
