The part of me that claims to be Irish

salutes the part of you that claims to be Irish!

(Actually, my ancestry is about half Irish, and I’m absurdly proud of that half.)st-patrick-celtic-cross-9-inch-2006885∞ ∞ ∞

are the men that God made mad,

for all their wars are merry,

and all their songs are sad.”

  7. Yes it is good to have a bit of Irish. Our younger son was born on St Patrick’s day which was mother’s day as well that year . A day to remember. Enjoy the day.

  10. I am 76.1% ‘British and Irish,’ according to my 23andMe DNA test. One of my great-grandmother’s had the maiden name ‘Patrick.’ With my green eyes and zillions of freckles, I look very Irish, indeed.

Tomorrow, as I do every St. Patrick’s Day, I will wear the t-shirt that I had specially made. Above the big green Shamrock it says ‘Yes, I Am Irish.’ Beneath the Shamrock: ‘No, You May Not Kiss Me.’. 😀

As well as being Saint Patrick’s Day, it’s the birth date of Patrick Bronte (father of the famous Bronte writers). He was born on the 17th March, 1777 in County Down, Northern Ireland.
