Where Will I Go From Here?

Presentation1

There’s something about midwinter. Perhaps because it’s too cold to go outside, we’re forced to look inside and assess what we see. “Do I like who I’ve become? Is this who I thought I would be?”

January’s vows have vanished

February’s nows are near

What will I make of the rest of my life?

Where will I go from here?

  1. … what if the answer is “not really”?
    Hypothetically, of course…

  2. Think what makes you happy
    Think what fills your soul
    Think what is a challenge
    Think what makes you whole.

How will you make an impact?
    What will your influence be?
    Whom can you enable?
    What is your legacy?

    When you know your blessings
    When you see your faults
    Your treasure is in heaven
Wealth is not found in vaults.

Ask God where He needs you
    Then ask how to grow.
    God prepares the called
not the other way, you know.

  3. That’s why I enjoy winter! It’s a wonder quiet time to reassess, to dream, even to dream big, to ask God to enlarge the process, to ponder, bask in solitude.

Beautiful quote and short verse. Thanks Mitch. I am a big fan of Christina Rossetti

  5. February was always the most difficult month for me because spring is teasing but winter still overwhelms with short days and cold nights. We moved to the desert🌵and sunlight helps me remember to put my eyes on Jesus.

Typically, I love the cold, especially if it is accompanied by snow! Last week we had some nicely below freezing temps, but then this week we are in the upper 50s and 60s!! Feels like spring, but we have some freezing temps coming again in a week or two.

Such a thoughtful and true poem you shared with us today, I am feeling similar to the words in your poem right now anxious for winter to end and warm weather to begin

  8. This beautiful poem by Christina Rossetti has been put to music by various composers. Our church choir used to sing a particularly gorgeous version during the Christmas season. It’s nice to close my eyes and hear that music in my head. Thanks for the poem, Mitch. 🌲
