Spring Has Sprung

“Life!” Even more than “green” or “flowers,” that’s the word that comes to mind when we think of spring. Of course, life doesn’t cease during the winter, it simply finds a warm place to take a long nap. But in spring it wakes up and bursts out the front door, shouting, “Time to make some color!

I understand, Cora. We had four warm days, then four cold days, and now we’re due for a warm-and-wet stretch. But buds and leaves are popping up everywhere.

Some caused me to “Wow,” others to “Aw . . . “. Altogether, a delightful celebration of spring (especially on a chilly morning that felt more like winter). Thank you, Mitch!

It is “sproinging” here in Kentucky, but last night we went down to 31F again! But no snow; the precipitation stopped while it was still in the high 30s.😔

  11. Thanks for sharing some wonderful spring inspiration!

Beautiful photos, Mitch. I think of the power it takes for plants and animals to emerge in spring, despite all conditions. I also think of my preschoolers in the spring, as they truly emerge and grow into a new stage. Children are as exciting as nature!

Beautiful. And encouraging to see such new life. Our flowers have been budding for a few weeks now with a few warm spells, but yesterday we had sleet. Today is sunny, though, and a friend told me it was 15′ C this afternoon (that’s about 60’F). Not much sign of the trees budding yet, but once they start they come in a hurry. A wonderful time of the year.
