A Funny and Surprisingly Touching Thanksgiving Message!
Dear pastors, teachers, and church drama groups: My wife and I were not happy when our washing machine and dryer both gave up the ghost within a week of each other! But then, while sitting in a nearby laundromat, we remembered just how much we had to be grateful for.
And that inspired this short scene. In it, our alter egos Rick and Toodie Narraway (Ask for Directions) learn to give thanks “in all things.” It’s a delightful illustration for a Thanksgiving message or discussion, one that churches all over North America have presented! And now you can preview or order GrrAttitude: The Thanksgiving Version* from my script publisher SkitGuys.com by clicking here!
*There’s also a non-Thanksgiving version, The Dryer Fairy, for year-round talks on gratitude.

Mitch, my wife Momo, and I were discussing this very subject a few days ago. We are both in our 70s, and health issues are now a part of our lives, but we have children with good careers, grandchildren who are wonderful, and we are financially stable. We have food, a home, clothing, and a good church. We are grateful for what we have, and our faith in God keeps us trucking along.
Indeed, that’s the only way to truly live.
Thanks for sharing, Mitch. I was reminded to be grateful for the good things even when most things are going bad (or at least not as expected).
Exactly, Andrew. It’s definitely a wiser way to live.
Thanks for sharing all this. Gracias!
Un placer, Doval!
Losing one appliance is enough to break out in praise and thanksgiving when the appliance repair person pulls up in the driveway. Two appliances and I can hear the heavenly host joining in too! God bless you and your family Mitch. 😊

Nice… twinkle toes!
