Friday the 13th in Living Color!

Friggatriskaidekaphobia means fear. Not fear of pronouncing the word wrong–that’s inevitable–but fear of Friday the 13th. Many people actually avoid leaving their homes on this infamous calendar date. In a sense, in order to avoid the imagined darkness outside, they embrace the real darkness within. Yet, far from dark, most of the world outside is a cacophony of living color. You’d almost think there was some brilliant Creator behind it all, saying, “Don’t be afraid. Go and embrace life!”

Loved those pictures. I was born on a Friday and the number 13 counts as a lucky birth number so every Friday the 13th is meant to be lucky for me. Since I cashed out on a survey site today I see that luck is with me.

  8. Wow! Seeing these as a collection is powerful!

  10. Fantastic images that make us see the world more vividly and amazingly. Now to enjoy every moment, no matter the date. Live every second of the day to the fullest. A very good post.

  11. Awesome images. Of course I like to tell the people who have a problem with Friday the 13th that “if you think they’re bad on Friday the 13th, they get worse on Saturday the 14th.” from what has to be the worst movie ever made, but it had one heck of a tagline.

Beautiful pics Mitch. Not one for superstitions myself. Not far from here there is a gathering of motorcyclists every Friday the 13th in Port Dover, Ontario. Every since the early 80s. I heard yesterday they were expecting up to 100.000 people!
