Friggatriskaidekaphobia means fear. Not fear of pronouncing the word wrong–that’s inevitable–but fear of Friday the 13th. Many people actually avoid leaving their homes on this infamous calendar date. In a sense, in order to avoid the imagined darkness outside, they embrace the real darkness within. Yet, far from dark, most of the world outside is a cacophony of living color. You’d almost think there was some brilliant Creator behind it all, saying, “Don’t be afraid. Go and embrace life!”

Truly a beautiful world that God gave us! ❤️ We are going to enjoy seeing some of it next week in upstate New York, the Finger Lakes and Watkins Glen State Park. 🙂
Ah, the Watkins Glen gorge is spectacular, Joy! The town is charming too, and not just because my relatives come from there.
Oh wow, on your relatives being from there. It’s a small world. 🙂
We camped a lot in Watkins Glen when I was a child, and I loved hiking the gorge. Always wanted to go back, and finally, I am. 🥰
You might not remember, since you were a child back then, Carolyn, but there was a Teemley’s Meat Market & Deli in Watkins Glen for decades. It closed down a decade or so ago.
I don’t remember that but my parent’s remember the ice cream shop! Was it Teemley’s icecream? 😉 They said it was the BEST icecream 🍦 😋
Not that I know of, Carolyn, just the deli.
To me Friday the 13th is Jesus and His 12 disciples heading out to minister. No fear and not staying home. 🙂
Our son was born on a Friday the 13th. Not scared!
as for the 11th

13 th Mitch!
oh, thanks for the heads-up!
Wow. These are absolutely incredible pictures!

Loved those pictures. I was born on a Friday and the number 13 counts as a lucky birth number so every Friday the 13th is meant to be lucky for me. Since I cashed out on a survey site today I see that luck is with me.
!!
Wow! Seeing these as a collection is powerful!

Fantastic images that make us see the world more vividly and amazingly. Now to enjoy every moment, no matter the date. Live every second of the day to the fullest. A very good post.
That’s a great motto to live by, Roberto. And thanks.
Awesome images. Of course I like to tell the people who have a problem with Friday the 13th that “if you think they’re bad on Friday the 13th, they get worse on Saturday the 14th.” from what has to be the worst movie ever made, but it had one heck of a tagline.
;>)
I celebrated my 13th birthday on Friday the 13th. I survived. I’m 82.
So, I’m guessing you’re a fan of the day. Happy birthday, Bob!
I was born on Friday the 13th. 😁
Good things do happen on Friday the 13th!
😁
Beautiful pictures thank you.
I’d forgotten about Friday 13th 🙂
My pleasure, Margaret.
Nice pictures,
What amazing pictures, and I’m thankful God gave us eyes that can see all these colors.
Me too, Priscilla.
Nice Pics
You certainly have selected a colorful selection of pics, Mitch. My favorite is the small turtle resting atop the big bloated bullfrog. 🙂
Damn…… I have just realized it’s Friday 13th…. guess due to jet lag…… I forgot to be frightened. Not to worry though,…just going to open some incoming bills ….. aghghhhhhh.

I think Friday the 13th is fun, not scary.
Apparently piglets like frosted cake! Really neat selection from the Lord’s colorful Creation!
Wow! These are very beautiful images.
I always like the diversity and rhythmic distribution of colours.
Thank you for sharing, Mitch!
My pleasure, Loku!
Beautiful photos!!!
So glad you enjoyed it, Jeff!
Is it odd that I like Friday the 13th ever since I was young 😀.
Pictures like these make me wonder in amazement about God’s creativity. Is that cat real?
Yes!
My favorite gallery so far, I think.
Delighted to hear that, Jeff. I particularly enjoyed putting this one together.
Beautiful pics Mitch. Not one for superstitions myself. Not far from here there is a gathering of motorcyclists every Friday the 13th in Port Dover, Ontario. Every since the early 80s. I heard yesterday they were expecting up to 100.000 people!
I hope they don’t all have accidents on the way there! ;>)
Congratulations on your passion and the extraordinary collection of photos!
Amazing pics of God’s amazing creation! Unbelievable beauty.
Beautiful!
