Five Years Ago: A Symbol of Our Resistance

The world was at war with COVID 19, and under quarantine. In an effort to lighten the mood, I suggested we adopt this Rosie the Riveter-inspired badass, Quaran-Tina, as a symbol of our resistance!

Presentation2Now that the War on COVID 19 is official, we need an icon, a symbol of resistance. A take-no-prisoners toughie wielding lethal-strength hand sanitizer. Leaving toilet paper and take-out food on doorsteps, then ringing doorbells with a surgically gloved finger, shouting, “We can do it!” to each brave Social-Distancing Soldier within. Waving to the few joggers who pass–from a safe distance of six feet, of course. Fellow at-home warriors, may I introduce Quaran-Tina!

I finally caught COVID when it was no longer fashionable. That stuff laid me out. I’d hate to see what would have happened if I hadn’t had the vaccine and boosters.

  2. “Quaran-Tina” is a great name choice for the cause. 🙂

I missed out on that gem of inspiration!

  4. 🙏 ❤️ You are so talented! I honestly love your writing style because of how flawless each paragraph is! I can’t wait to read more of what you got coming soon!

Strangely to me, the COVID of 2020 seems like a distant memory. Face masks are a thing of the past. I don’t think about it much in these days where seeing a person wearing a mask is no longer a common sight. I wonder if there will come a day if it’ll be known without a shadow of doubt of how the war against COVID began.

    “may I introduce Quaran-Tina!”

🤣😂😆 I laughed. But it’s also fitting for the dilemma!

That’s very good. I was too busy flying the bird to think of a symbol. Shame on me.

Remember the tiny toilet paper rolls earrings? 🤣

  11. Interesting! Yes, I’d forgotten about the toilet paper.

Love this idea! Quaran-Tina perfectly captures the spirit of strength, humor, and resilience we all needed during those uncertain times. Brilliant!

  13. I used to have a poster just like this on my wall at uni! It was always very motivating!

  14. Love it. I wasn’t following you five years ago, but following COVID security and protocols is what kept us alive. I anticipate getting my next booster in late May.

Awesome artwork! I have no doubt you are the creative genius behind the name Quaran-Tina, but did you do the art, too?

I love Quaran Tina! Very cool, and a great way to get some pleasure from what was so difficult.

Like the above comments, I finally got COVID a couple of times in the last few years. Was fortunate enough to get the Paxlovid treatments, and that made the disease not too bad.

I fear now that with the new political situation here in the US, the next outbreaks could be bad again, perhaps with no current booster vaccine. We may need you to resurrect Quaran Tina for us.
