I’m the most humble. The best at it, actually.
Happy Sunday 🙂
Dang it, that comment was supposed to have a “end sarc” tag at the end. Now my joke isn’t funny. *sigh*
The universe just immediately served me some humble pie haha
I got it without the tag, AJ. ;>)
The two scriptures you shared are like bookends, Mitch. I’ve not seen them together before but it fits.
I remember you once said that the opposite of humility is not pride it’s delusion.
Just who do we think are?
Indeed, David.
Whenever I am humbled, I seem to bounce back…argh
Yep, it’s definitely not a one and done.
Yes!
I humbly agree.

2 samuel 49:49 engraved thee with thy mind
psalm 26:42 if this sin cannot be removed
unless i pray thou shall be saved
psalm 51 mentioned does include chapter 39
when i think of that
… and pride makes us dead.
One more comment if I may: It’s a funny thing this humility. Just when we think we have it, we don’t, and when we think we don’t, we might.
A funny thing indeed, Robert. Perhaps because it vanishes when being humble becomes the goal, a prize to be obtained rather than simply seeing things as they really are and being humbled by the truth.
Even better. Well put.
Oh! Good!

💗Thomas Merton. 💗 A wise man.
Humility and Surrender have been big words on my heart this year, things to learn and listen for. A sweet friend of mine, who just today mentioned a Franciscan came to her church this weekend, and spoke on Humility and Pride today! We were speaking about the remarkable interview between Bishop Barron and Shia Labeouf when the topic came up, as it has been a miraculous gift of humility on his part to lead to his recent conversion and teachable spirit!
It’s a little scary when the Lord is repeating Himself to me over and over about Humility! Yikes! ❣️🏳️❣️🏳️❣️🏳️ ❣️🙏🏻
Great thoughts and verses! Thank you!
My privilege, Peach.
Amen.
Psalm 51:17 is one of my favorites.
Two beautiful Scripture verses and wise words from Thomas Merton. Who could ask for more? Thanks, Mitch!
My pleasure, Sherrey.
Very good advice, applicable to anyone anywhere. 🙂
