Two Major News Updates:
1. “Winter is coming still here!”
According to the SMITHs (Silly Men in Top Hats) of Gobbler’s Knob, Pennsylvania, the world’s greatest non-human meteorologist, a groundhog named Phil, has seen his shadow, which according to GPS (Groundhog Prediction Science) means the U.S. is in for six more weeks of winter!
2. The Teemleys are still here!
Today is the 18th anniversary of my family’s arrival in Cincinnati. That’s right, it’s our 18th Groundhog Day in Ohio. And I think I just spotted my shadow.

Only six more weeks? In Wisconsin, we’d celebrate that good news. Not having to wear snow boots on Easter Sunday would be nice.

I actually miss snow here, growing up we had snow that settled (Essex, UK). Used to snow in December – now we may see a little in January – sometimes March, but nothing that settles. it does cause havoc, but I do think it is pretty too. I know you are probably happy to see the end of it😃

Rob, I know what you mean. Even in Cincinnati we sometimes get snow as late as April.

I celebrated with a trek around my loop, 22 breezy degrees, but the sun’s out and I had to yank off my stocking cap. Once I recover a little, I’m gonna do it again, since they say temps are headed downhill. Oh, no glimpse of our neighborhood groundhog (which may still be hibernating under our shed).

Unfortunately, impatience is very common. I’m on a trading platform (from Stocks to Commodities to Cryptos). So many people lose so much money there because they are too impatient. And of course have no experience. Then they sell at a loss because some people in the media say the end of our economy is near. And then they buy again when prices are up…..

Phil admittedly has a spotty track record with these prognostications, so we’ll just carry on regardless of what Mother Nature ultimately decrees. With a little patience, we’ll soon be into Spring!

Well, Punxsutawney Phil better hide in his burrow. I was listening to a talk radio show today and listeners were discussing how good groundhog stew tasted. One of the callers had prepared some with fresh roadkill and said it was quite tender and delicious. Several called in to corroborate but advised a long cook time. 😦

Sigh! I always knew there was a reason I couldn’t warm up to a groundhog! Of course here in Kentucky the weather changes every few minutes, but I do wish it would be warmer for a few hours. Not forever, of course, but just a few hours. I would love to go outside and see sunshine and feel it warming the icicles that have formed in my veins. I’m sure that is why I’m sitting in my recliner wearing a fleece jacket while the fan is going. Don’t ask.

I’ve yet to find a groundhog around the farm and Pennsylvania is too far away. He’d have never seen it here though. Our last freeze date is projected to be February 20th which is way early even by Texas standards. We’re buried in ice today and next Wednesday is going to be 70 degrees again. Gotta love it…

Here in PA, Punxutawney Phil even closes the schools down because of the crowds. I’ve never wanted to get up that early. Happy rest of winter, Mitch! God bless!

The video on your blog post is a bit … well, weird, quite frankly. As is the weather we have just experienced on a weeklong road trip. We didn’t go very far, but one moment there was Antarctic winds, and the next 90’F days. For once, I hadn’t packed too much. And that is our summer. Bit of a non-event really. Good luck with your snow six weeks.
