My Featured Blogger this week is Rose Perez of Poet Rummager. Rose, who sell collectibles and art online, often finds things that, as she puts it, “have hilarious and, at times, dark stories to tell.” And finding these poetical prompts too “thrilling (and) creatively random” to ignore, she simply has to tell their stories.
I don’t make wishes anymore.
They float away.
Unrestrained
Clutching the earth
Sinking teeth into dirt
Sprouting into monsters
Once held in captivity
Now wild and rampant
Behold the weeds of my iniquity.

Excellent! My definition of a great poem is one that paints a word picture in a few words, is understandable, and has a profound message. This is a great poem.

Thank you for your kind words! Finding and getting inspired by meaty quotes from the Bible is lots of fun. I’m glad you enjoyed my poem. 💗
