No matter how we try to avoid them, to paraphrase Jeff Goldblum’s characer in Jurassic Park, “ads will find a way.” So the least they can do is show us a little respect, make us laugh or think, or both, for the few seconds they hold us captive. Those that do, the truly clever ones, win my respect — or at least the creatives who came up with those ads do.

These are great! I’ve used the hulk bandaid ad when we work on visual rhetoric in class. So many of these would work well! š

I ran ads for our rhetoric unit and it was an entertaining means of showing persuasion. There are some fun ones that use satire as wellāNike and Wii Fit come to mind.

Love the Jeep add with the sort-of giraffe that becomes a pig when you turn it upside down. I’ve seen similar two-in-one line drawings, but this one is much more detailed and artistically drawn. Impressive! Thanks for a fun brain-break, Mitch!

Looked again–I see your penguin! Perhaps I’ve read the Olivia the Pig story to my granddaughters one too many times. I see the little bovine looking skyward when I turn the giraffe upside down! : )
