Lingering in the rain,
Vaseline on my fingertips,
I watch him slip through the narrow doorway–
He always rocked a three-piece suit.
He’s so dapper with his snaky charm,
A red triangle folded over his heart,
A gold chain shining across his vest–
He’s definitely dressed to spill secrets.
His long legs eat up the pavement,
While his umbrella twirls in the mist.
We could have had a relationship;
Instead, he inexplicably chose this.
Sadly, it’ll be his last decision;
My weary heart is heavy
But my hand lifts like a feather,
Stretches, and aims…
