The meaning of Easter cannot be contained in a single image or quote, but perhaps the following impressions will serve as a source of contemplation. Of course, the only way to express the true spirit of Easter is to embody it.

“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” ~John 15:13
“And now brothers, I will ask you a terrible question, and God knows I ask it also of myself. Is the truth beyond all truths, beyond the stars, just this: that to live without him is the real death, that to die with him the only life?”
~Frederick Buechner
“We focus on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, but we forget to pause in the stillness of the days between…to be present in that place of waiting. There is treasure to be found in the sacred peace that comes as you breathe in that place of quiet surrender. Don’t rush through the space called ‘Between.’”
~Katherine J Walden
“The very first Easter taught us this: that life never ends and love never dies.”
~Kate McGahan
“Jesus’s resurrection is the beginning of God’s new project not to snatch people away from earth to heaven but to colonize earth with the life of heaven. That, after all, is what the Lord’s Prayer is about.”
~N.T. Wright
“Easter is proof that we can begin again.”
~Richelle E. Goodrich
“We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.”
~Pope John Paul II (Karol Wojtyła)
“For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him.”
~I Timothy 2:11

Thanks for the beautiful post and words. Walden’s quote is my favorite. Waiting can be so hard, and we do need to pause and remember to breathe as we wait. There are things to learn while waiting. Have a Blessed Easter Mitch!
