April Foolishness

I’ve always appreciated good-hearted pranks, not the mean kind, but the teasy kind. The kind that end with an affable laugh. When I was in high school, I was invited to a ‘Girl Ask Boy’ dance. I arrived with a packet of flower seeds, which I then pinned on the girl, proudly explaining that these would last much longer than those “dead corsages.” She was speechless. Until I pulled out the real corsage. We were fast friends from that moment on–although it was my best friend she eventually ended up with.

Happy April Fools’ Day!

  3. My favorite April 1 prank came from my daughter when she was ten. She was the oldest of five; the youngest was 7 months. Their father had left two months earlier.

My daughter told her friends at school her mother was having another baby. I got a frantic phone call that evening from my friend, another girl’s mother. It took us a few minutes to realize it was April Fools Day. Grace under fire in a child, remarkable!

P.S. I’m honored, as always, by the reblog. Although the link still doesn’t lead to your site, I can hand type the url, but when I get to DEEZ I never see the reblog. Also, I’d love to Like or Respond to some of your posts, Michael, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to let you know I’ve visited.

I actually saw the towel dispenser one with “Voice Activated; Speak Clearly ‘Paper Towel'”. A guy was standing there speaking to the dispenser while a couple others were using the facility until one of them finished and went over and waved his hand under it. He was NOT amused, but the rest of us could hardly close our flies, we were laughing so hard!! 😂
