Give Up Yourself

“Give up yourself, and you will find your real self. Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness, despair, rage, ruin and decay. But look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.”

  2. Amen. I have lived 40 years without Him and 36 years with Him. Those first 40 without Him were not a life except for one of my wives and one of my children.

I love this quote, Mitch… Once, I listened to those who told me I needed to find myself … it was one of the most disappointing discoveries I ever made.

  7. “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”
