A beautiful tree – and I love the topper. 💞 I think any stigma about being short would be more of an issue for men than women – although it can definitely be an inconvenience in any number of situations where reaching is an issue.

Where did you find your tree topper? I love it!

I’m not sure, Joe. I think it was a gift the first year we were married. Trudy would know. Maybe she’ll read my comment and correct me (I depend on her for that ;>).

You could always ask her, you do live together?

Holy smoke, I hadn’t thought of that! ;>)

I ordered it from a school fund-raiser catalog – so long ago – maybe 25 years or more.

Good thing your lovely (just the right height) tree isn’t manufactured by IKEA; you’d have wound up with a leftover branch or two.
Enjoy all the December festivities ahead!

Better than a too-tall tree! Have Trudy tell us about the Christmas tree skirt!

Will do, Joy.

Oh, the Christmas Tree skirt – my mother’s little secret. She took an old round white lace tablecloth and sewed it on top of red cloth that she cut the same size!

A grand idea for a post.

Very nice tree at any height! It’s 78 degrees today . I need to decorate but it doesn’t feel very Christmassy .

Patience, Virginia, there is a winter.

I think its very pretty but any size tree suites me fine, especially the little ones that fit nicely on my table. Now the manger scene is yet another story!

Yep. We’ve got two of those! (Not sure what that means, theologically speaking, but they’re beautiful.)

It’s a lovely tree, Mitch! Happy December!

Happy December to you, too, Mitch! Height is relative so that a shortee like me can also become tall 🙂

Your home is lovely. And the tree looks exactly the right size.

Aww, thanks, sis.

I built a wooden box for ours to sit on. The upside is bigger gifts fit under the tree.

When we moved to our new home last year, we had a “tall” tree, but the ceilings here are 9 feet grande while our last home had tall walls of 7.5 feet. So my wife decided that while the tall tree was nice, we should get a grande tree. Now we have two inside trees and outside we have a vente sized tree (20 feet) and I bought enough lights to add it to our Christmas festivities (well, actually putting lights on that tree might not be festive, but it will look festive when I’m done).

It is beautiful! ^_^ Fills it’s spot in the room nicely as well. 🙂 Love the ornaments too, very cute and a fun assortment.

Lovely. I like this post about your North Pole arrival. Er… China? Ok. And your tall tree. Adorable. Thanks for sharing.

Mitch you are a hot mess! LOL. From your experience I think I’ll just keep the tree we have in the garage and wait for after Christmas sales….Oh, by the way, you can add Bruno Mars to your list of notably famous, but…Blessings and Peace!

🙂 Lovely tree! I keep threatening to get a table top version when the kids are out on their own — our basement stairs have two turns!

As long as I can reach the top of the tree to place the star ornament it’s tall enough for me.

Brilliant idea if you are not afraid of heights.

A very wonderful December to you!/ Size is definitely not the measure of the dog. My friend Craig says that westward bound settlers were often chased by mad packs of Chihuahuas, making the westward journey fraught with danger…

This is the perfect tree, and beautifully decorated! Bill had to order us a new tree a few years ago (from China) because our other one was 15 years old. It was one of those where you had to put one branch at a time in, and I was having to use masking tape to hold them in. I remember you posting your tree last year or the year before. Bill and I noticed we had some of the same ornaments – “Our First Christmas 1985”. So many memories of Christmas past wrapped up in ornaments. Merry Christmas to you and Trudy!
