What Do You Live For?

Heaven and Earth..

“If I find myself in a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. Probably earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it, to suggest the real thing. If that is so, I must take care, on the one hand, never to despise, or to be unthankful for, these earthly blessings, and on the other, never to mistake them for the something else of which they are only a kind of copy, or echo, or mirage.”

~C.S. Lewis

I’m curious, Yernasia, why you (seem to) use random capitalization, exclamation points in the middle of sentences, and terminology that has meaning exclusive to you. As a result, I spend more time (as do others, I suspect) trying to figure what you’re trying to say than actually responding to it. No offense intended, my friend, I’ve simply been wondering.

💎 No problem SupaSoulBro; the simple answer is that some people get it and some people don’t as per the quote “Speak your mind, if they don’t get it they are not ready to receive the message.” ~ Anon…just like with religious, cultural, corporate, military and other leaders; it’s certainly not “exclusive” to Me and I AM Happy to Answer any questions about AnyThing I Post

This is one of my favorites by C.S. Lewis. It became that at a very pivotal time in my life. The feeling of not being satisfied here provides a heavenly longing; it’s comforting.

  8. I knew before I got to the end of the quote who had said it. C. S. Lewis was an inspiration to me – a man with truly divine perspective.

  9. On the one hand, each soul, who takes to heart Genesis 1:28 (“be fruitful and multiply”) can achieve worldly, genetic immortality. On the other hand, our creator assigning each of us a decidedly distinctive proficiency and personality would suggest there’s something far more meaningful in store for us; the vastly superior immortality attainable within the afterworld.
