Hope Springs…

Hope doesn’t float, nope, it springs. Around this time every year God reminds us he hasn’t given up on us yet.

“Hope springs eternal in the human breast
Man never is, but always to be blest
The soul, uneasy, and confin’d from home
Rests and expatiates in a life to come”

~Alexander Pope

“You can cut all the flowers, but you cannot keep spring from coming.” ~Pablo Neruda

“What a strange thing
to be alive
beneath cherry blossoms”
~Kobayashi Issa

“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.” ~Margaret Atwood

“If people did not love one another, I really don’t see what use there would be in having any spring.” ~Victor Hugo

“Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.” ~Pope John Paul II (Karol Wojtyła)

“Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight

At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more

When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death

And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.

~C. S. Lewis

Love the Pope John Paul II quote! Love the reality that we are Easter people! To a lesser degree (!) I also love those Japanese Fibonacci flowers. There’s a whole realm of study concerning Fibonacci numbers/patterns that are found throughout the universe, from the nautilus shell, to sunflower seeds, to the rotation of buds on a branch, to the spiral of such galaxies as the Milky Way. Our God is a mathematician!!

    Mitch,

Yes, this does remind me how awesome spring to us. The image of the little girl and the deer remind me of the Eternal Kingdom. All will be set right when the real Aslan returns.

    In Christ,

    Gary
