Braving the Polls in 2020

WASHINGTON, Nov. 2 (United Press Irrational) – According to a recent phone survey by the National Association for the Hearing Impaired, over 90% of those polled said that, in the current election, they would vote for:

Two Weevils

It was unclear whether they meant they would brave the bug known as COVID-19 in order to cast their vote, or whether they were actually referring to the two major presidential nominees themselves. There is considerable disagreement as to which will ultimately do the most damage to our democratic crop, once considered America’s most significant export.

On a personal note, I hiked up my courage and voted live this morning! (That’s me in the pic.) The polling place was surprisingly peaceful and well-managed, unlike the rest of our world these days. Yeah, I know that sounds a bit cynical, but I really do hold out hope that we can eliminate the worst of these bugs, burn all of our masks, and create a better future. Together!

  1. I voted for the lesser weevil three days ago, on the last day of early voting in my precinct. May the lesser weevil win! ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Good for you, Mitch! I know we may have two “weevils,” but people who refuse to vote for the lesser of two weevils for fear of dirtying their lily-white hands are letting a vote for the greater weevil to go unchallenged. (They’re also forfeiting their right to complain for the net four years.)

  4. I did the early voting thing here and got my sticker, but I was wearing a mask with donuts printed on it.

Donuts are another threatened institution here in America – I think the message should be: “Vote and buy a donut on the way home.”

My wife and I both voted in person this morning, and we found that peace had broken out at our polling station. After the state of affairs in our nation over these last few months, it was a great thing to see. We were both rather pleased to be able to go in, vote, and be done in less than ten minutes. In fact, it was so nice, we abandoned our plan to have one sitting in the car while the other voted, and then switching out. May the best incumbent win the day…

Glad you braved those awesome polls!! You and your weevils. (LOL) But on a serious note. The lesser of two evils is still evil. And that’s the problem. Have a great rest of your week and stay out of trouble you. Blessings and Peace.

Great way to put it. It is the second time in a row in my opinion that we have had to do that and I think that is what the elections are now coming to – the lesser of two weevils. So sad.

My dad (1924-2018) used to say the same thing: the electorate must often choose the lesser of two evils. So this is not a new phenomenon. I’m thankful that in the end, God is the one in control, not the person in the White House (Colossians 1:16-17).

As a farmer I found that the only choice I had in the election this year was indeed the lesser of two weevils. Thanks Mitch!
