There’s never been a better time to talk about healing. From civil strife and viral fear. From isolation. In the midst of a worldwide medical/social pandemic, we’re more alienated than ever from each other, and oddly enough from ourselves. Why? How can spending time alone alienate us from ourselves? Because without one another we’re incomplete. Mother Teresa put it this way: “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten we belong to each other.” That’s not sentimental hyperbole, it’s a stone cold psychological, sociological, and spiritual fact.
Is there a solution? Yes. But we must be committed. We must continually find ways to leap the fissures that separate us, to reconnect, or even connect for the first time. And not just with those who agree with us, but with those who don’t…
Especially those who’ve hurt us.
Inspired by true stories, including one of my own, I wrote and directed a feature film entitled Healing River. I’m not prescient, in fact, honestly, I was annoyed when my movie’s release was delayed. But when it finally was released in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, it struck an incredibly timely chord with people. The moment it premiered, reviewers began talking about how “relevant” it was, how badly needed its message was “for this time.” And it quickly became Amazon Prime’s highest-rated inspirational film.
However, many have been unable to see it until now. So I’m delighted to announce that Healing River has expanded to multiple sources, including, finally, DVDs!
Here are some of the ways you can see Healing River now:
- DVD – Amazon, Movie Zyng, and other online video retailers
- Commercial television – TubiTV — It’s free (but with commercial interruptions)
- Streaming/VOD – Amazon Prime (you don’t have to be a Prime member, but it’s free if you are) – Google Play – YouTube Movies

Glad to hear your film is getting wider release. And we do need more conversations about healing.

It is absolutely a movie that arrived at the right time. Do you think it might be possible that the delay in your film’s release was maybe a “God thing,” as annoying as it was to you at the time?
HINT: OF COURSE it was!
If you haven’t see this movie yet, you need to see it soon. It will open your eyes as well as your heart.

Watched you movie, Mitch on Amazon! Great job! Like the little nuances you added. Like the picture of the minister in his office that looks like he’s walking on Abbey Road that I noticed, then later in movie his sister says he’s an avid Beatles fan. And of course the couple walking by the area that keeps changing for the better, and the ICU nurse whose last name in the credits is Teemly…. Anyway, Janet and I enjoyed it! Looking forward to the next Teemly production!

Jeff, I’m so glad you enjoyed Healing River! May I encourage you to share it on Facebook, and to leave a brief review at Amazon? (The more reviews it gets, the more they recommend it). Also, you can rate it from 1 to 10 stars on IMDb (link below). Note: IMDb only recognizes the rating if you rate a few other movies, as well. Thanks and blessings! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5848326/
