Dignity

Great quotes! I especially like the one from Martin Luther King.
A while back I drove down a street where at least five restaurants had “Help Wanted” signs in the window. When I got to Walmart I saw a man standing at the parking lot entrance with a sign that said “Unemployed.” Genuinely wanting to help, I told him about all the opportunities up the road. He looked at me as if I had suggested he fly to Mars.

I have witnessed the same reaction. But it makes me wonder, how could standing outside in all kinds of weather with nothing to do but watch cars and people go by, be superior to actually interacting with others and contributing to some enterprise? So many agencies and ministries are ready and willing to help individuals become productive citizens. But from what I’ve been told, those individuals have to want the help, and there’s the rub.

And who should set a role model for Americans who earn their keep? a President who plays golf on weekends amid our current labor crisis.

I am glad we seem to agree on this matter. How about 9/11. It’s the same problem with his uncaring nature.

I can’t and won’t judge the man’s motives, that’s God’s job. But Trump does have the earmarks of a classic narcissist, seeing everything as about him.

I love the King quote. Hard work isn’t beneath anyone. God bless!

I pray for those weighed down by their worries, O God. I thank you that you are our Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides; you are our Adonai, the sovereign God of the universe. You own it all, and hold everything in your hands; everything is possible with you. I thank you in advance for your provision out of your unlimited resources, for those who seek you. And we will praise you for every miracle on behalf of these hurting ones. In the powerful name of Jesus we pray these things, AMEN!
