There’s a wise and ancient recipe:
Desire nothing
and you shall have peace
Wise, yes
And simple too
But incomplete
Here’s how to complete it:
Desire nothing but God
and you shall have everything.

Today is Pentecost Sunday, commemorating the day when the Holy Spirit came down and filled Christ’s followers, making complete Isaiah’s promise.
Simple wisdom from the ancients. Thanks for the reminder, Mitch.

Mitch, this post made take a deep breath. Then a quote by Jim Elliott came to mind,
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”

Amen, brother! Our Lord is surely more than enough: even if it takes loosing absolutely everything to realize that it’s a fantastic outcome. He knows all, can do all, has done all in the Lord Jesus Christ and works only absolute good: seek, follow, depend upon fully, you will not be dissatisfied!

James, I’m truly honored to be nominated for this award! However, I don’t do blogger awards anymore. But I enthusiastically support those who do–it’s a great way to discover new blogs and find new followers!
