…Who’s There?
A little owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard
Why can’t we be like that wise little bird?

Dear blogger friends, the above message is from Chris Jensen, a formerly homeless man and currently “using addict” (his words). From this and a previous response of his to my promise to pray for him, it appears he has issues with those who believe in God. He won’t like it, and may even curse you, but I ask that you pray for him anyway. God loves him, whether he likes to hear about it or not.

That verse is ever in my heart. Even as a child,
I talked too much. They have yet to find a cure.
On my behalf, I am a good listener, but once I
get the floor…. Ok, Ok I’m going. : )

I was the youngest of three girls and the daughter of a disappointed farmer.
(I have an old poem on that subject. I’ll post it Monday) I have always wanted a brother. : )

How clever! I’m more of a talker than a listener, so this was a good (gentle and cute) reminder for me. I’m reading this on a Sunday, so perhaps it’s the sermon God wanted me to hear! I’m sorry if it sounds cheesy, but if you don’t mind, I’ve nominated you for a Creative Blogger Award on my blog, so please take a look. Thanks and have a nice day! 🙂

I am truly honored by the nomination, Andrea. However, although I used to do these, I now I leave them to those who are still building a following, preferring to visit their award posts and cheer them on. Good to meet you, btw!

That is the absolute truth! Listen more, speak less.

Thank you so much for this beautiful reminder … It made me thin of my favorite don’t-talk-so-much poem… Hope you don’t mind if I share it … and then I will be quiet 😶
Suppose
If all that we say in a single day,
With never a word left out.
Were printed each night
in clear black and white
‘Twould prove strange reading, no doubt.
And then, just suppose,
‘ere our eyes we could close,
We must read the whole record through;
Then wouldn’t we sigh,
and wouldn’t we try
A great deal less talking to do?
And I more than half think
That many a kink
Would be smoother in life’s tangled thread.
If half that we say in a single day
Were left forever unsaid.

Not sure why I was so surprised to see the little owl under the cap, but there he was. Wonderful message, Mitch. Prayers for Mr. Jensen. 🙏

Chris Jensen may not have learned from his time as Homeless. There are no better times than being homeless. May I add him to my list of “all those who live”. The little Whooter is wise beyond his time of experience. Thank you for the thought.

We need to learn to listen more. I need to learn to. The more we listen the more we see and observe and hear all that isn’t said. Not just from people but the universe
