There’s something suspiciously miraculous about how much unexpected beauty there is in the world. But perhaps more miraculous still is the fact that humans (even those without eyesight) are able to see it. If they only will.

And finally, a moment of unexpected beauty from the film American Beauty.
So many wonderful pics here, always love your posts, especially the funny ones that make me laugh out loud. These were so beautiful, I had to comment on lots of them individually, I especially like the algae ones after viewing that important film I blogged about this morning. I think the second one would make an awesome poster!!
A big amen, Mitch! I live in the land of grey, of perpetual fog and a heavy marine layer. It is beautiful here, breathtaking really, but you can’t always see it. It’s really caused me to be fascinated by the beauty in the world, the colors, the way our eyes process it, what it all means. We can live perfectly well in a grey world, be it on the coast or in some kind of concrete jungle somewhere, but we don’t, that’s not our planet. There is amazing beauty in the world that looks much like it was designed just to talk to us, just to give us pleasure.

God’s intricate design cannot be compared to anything man tries to create.
