Oh, I love optical illusions, they are so cool!

Have always loved this: “The only real things in life is the unexpected things. Everything else is just an illusion” (Watkin Tudor Jones – south african musician) 🙂

Jennifer Kennedy Deane said the earth is a shadow of the real…heaven…another great thought!

Plato’s Cave, yes! I’ve been intrigued with the idea of earthly vs. heavenly forms since I first read about it.

Plato’s Allegory of the Cave was very handy to trot out for essay exams. My professors just ate it up.

Wow! Awesome! You have also chosen one of my favorite passages from good ol’ Two Corinthians. Thanks for that day-enhancer.

Love Van Gogh, Starry Night–and ALL the quotes you’ve included. I’ll share a favorite of mine: “I’ve wrestled with reality for 35 years, and I’m happy to say I finally won out over it.” (character Elwood P Dowd, in the play, “Harvey”). Blessings to you today!

All illusions will be revealed within the collection of books that explains reality as an illusion

What collection of books are you referring to, JW?

Is the not only one Book of Books?

The illusions are all clever, and #1 is fiendishly clever.
The *Starry Night* illusion reminds me of a wholly natural illusion that some waterfalls create when viewed from below. Look at the falling water for a little while, then look at the cliff face on either side. The illusion of rising rocks is dramatic when there is a good flow over Awosting Falls in New York’s Minnewaska State Park.

I’ll try and remember that next time I have the chance to try it out!
