Those are all fantastic inspirations!! The last, though…that one is particularly helpful…and very wise. Thanks so much!!

All true! I may print these quotes out. They are what my daughter used to call “fridge-worthy.” 😉

Before my time as a volunteer and now while working part time to help people who are homeless or very poor…. without these experiences I would be totally wrapped up in self-centeredness, miserable, decaying, and worthless to society.
Sacrifice is the giving of self so that I don’t die in the service of self.”

Best kind of example, Kate–the “been there” kind!

Hi Mitch! I like that one from Helen Mirren. I was reading Aristotle’s poetics in preparation for a post on my classical ed blog, and was much struck by his explanation that character is born in to us, but actions are a person’s choice and will define whether you are happy or not. I found that very positive. Great list of quotes for the day! Thanks.

Love these. All presented by true scholars. This is one that we should revisit or copy and paste for the future.

Alyosia is definitely channeling my husband. Wise girl. 🙂
(Hi, btw! Thanks for your recent bits of encouragement on my blog. I appreciate it, despite being out of commission for about a year.)
