The Gallery of Sin

0083My Featured Blogger this week is Vera Poh of To Dad with Love Poetry. Vera is a Melbourne, Australia-based writer whose thoughts and feelings never fail to intrigue me.

There’s the immediate effect: thoughtful and insightful, sometimes witty, always visceral. And then there’s the after-effect: like the finish of a good wine, the flavours you continue to discover after you’ve tasted the words, and feel compelled to taste them again. An example from the poem below:

“The stain of baby’s vomit

Is trifling and yet
Such things are declarations”

Such words may be revelations, if we let them.

Wow, Mitch, thank you SO much, I don’t know what to say. I am really humbled. Your encouragement and presence and friendship have always meant a lot to me. And now, just when I feel I am beginning to fall away from this space, you have given me reason to return and carry on.
