Dictionaries define epiphany as a sudden or divine revelation. The annual celebration called Epiphany, traditionally on January 6th, commemorates the ultimate epiphany: the revelation that Yeshua Ha’Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah) came to save not only the people of Israel, but all people. The occasion is often symbolized by the declaration of the magi, foreign wise men, that Jesus was their king, as well, that he was, in fact, everyone’s king!

“By the tender mercy of our God, the dawn shall break from on high upon us, to shine upon those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.” ~Luke 1:78-79
Wise men they call them, these men from afar, who’s custom it was to study the stars,
and unlock the secrets that therein were hidden,
a practice that God had strictly forbidden.
And after their Journey had a two-year delay,
They still had to stop and ask for the way,
at this point these men who are supposed to be wise,
King Herod recruited to act as his spies.
So why do such men who were wrong from the start,
get labeled as being extraordinarily smart?
The reason I feel most certainly lie,
not in what they did, but why.
For even in their darkness they saw a small light, and instinctively acted on this new insight.
The moment they saw they were spiritually dead,
They dropped everything and immediately fled.
They sought out the Savior whom they adored,
With gifts and praises they made him their Lord.
They didn’t go back the way they had been,
For the Spirit of God now guided these men.
And this is the truth that you really must see.
The wisdom they had can set people free.
Not book smart and learning you pick up at some college,
For the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

“the dawn shall break from on high upon us”…A fun irony, I saw a great sunrise this morning and captured a piece of it on camera. Thanks for the post Mitch

Where can we go with this than another Holiday? An epiphany to the meaning to the value of Love. Really nicely presented.

Hi Mitch,
Yes, Jesus, Savior of the world. It makes me happy to know broken people here will shine in His kingdom. Thanks for always sharing what I need and I hope others need to hear.
In Christ,
Gary
