Palm Sunday

“The great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. “They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD!'” ~John 12:12-13

The masses gathered to celebrate Him. Less than a week later, they crucified Him. Thus have we ever treated our Creator. Yet “God demonstrated His love for us in that, while we were still sinners (in the process of actively rejecting Him), Christ died for us.” ~Romans 5:8

We have the benefit of hindsight. We know the whole story.

How will we respond this time?

  2. Loved being in church today. When I was younger the reading of The Passion was something I was inpatient during…it always seemed so long. Now that I’m older and perhaps a bit wiser, each word is listened to with not just sorrow, but also love, for the great sacrifice that was made for us. As a mother of sons, I think of Mary and all that she must have endured, watching her son being crucified.

    Mitch,

We have all the information to make a better decision. Lord, still needs to get the heart.

I liked this! As a matter of fact, my minister said in his sermon this week that the way we usually understand how God has been at work in our lives is by looking back and seeing what we couldn’t see at the time. I think he’s right.
