The Box

It’d be easier to think outside the box

if we didn’t live inside the box

Presentation1

At the very least, we could

stick our heads out the window

What, there isn’t a window?

Well, then, we’ll make one

What, there’s nothing to make one with?

Well, flying monkeys, couldn’t we just–

Oh, never mind

hand me one of those square pillows, will you?

To figure out how to think outside the box

you have to think outside the box

You are right we are all trapped inside the box but the sad thing is that we have somehow peacefully settled in there… without a window!

Sometimes it’s better to be in the box, especially when what’s going on outside of it is chaos.

  3. This was a good post. For me, it was about creativity. If we are creative, there are obstacles that come at us… we can either become fearful and stay in the box OR those obstacles can make us MORE creative, because to get out of the box… as you SAY, we need to THINK outside of the box. Good thought for Sunday!

I’ve begun to just ignore the phrase about thinking outside the box. When I realize the creativity God Himself placed in me to solve problems, be artistic, be a leader, and the rest, I come to believe that He never intended there to be a box in the first place. Now my credo is just, “Think.” There will always be challenges, but the freedom I have with no box helps me use the voice God put in my soul. it’s the voice God enjoys hearing so much.

  5. Great post and great picture.

Suggestion: Should the last line be “you have to [live] outside the box” to create parallel structure with the opening?
