Am I the only one
whose little cat thinks
each bit of Christmas ribbon
is a strand of al dente pasta?
Then discovering it’s nasty
that in fact it’s quite vile
hurls it up
in cheery piles
of multicolored Christmas bile?
With a cack, cack, cack
she puts it all back
then goes and eats some more
Yes, it’s she we adore
but on days like these
I must admit
I want to murder her
a little bit
or at least to scream,
“Why do you do that, cat?”
But I’ll never know
so, I’ll close now, I guess
with this feline greeting so bright
“Happy Catmess to all
and to all a good night!”
Just your cat being a Christmas cat and getting in the holiday spirit. Break out the catnip!

My cat, Snot, has a thing for bags (yes, his name is Snot. He was a rescue and suffered every ailment including cat scratch fever as a kitten–yes it’s a real thing, and transmittable to humans–so as a result he walks around sneezing and hacking up snot to this day 🙂 it’s also helpful that he happens to also be a little snot). I have to hide my shopping bags because if any are left anywhere in reach (heaven forbid on the floor) he takes them and claims them… so the other day I was wrapping some gifts, and using some gift bags… needless to say, Snot is now very fond of his newest score, a Christmas gift bag.

If bag-hoarding makes poor little Snot forget about his condition, small price to pay, eh? ;>)
